New residents meet with their assigned counselor and participate in an initial 21-day evaluation and introduction to the treatment program. Health needs are carefully reviewed and any medical, dental or psychiatric treatment required is provided through our affiliations with local medical facilities. There are educational meetings on topics such as relapse prevention, health and disease prevention, communication skills, and employment options and goals. As part of the treatment program residents are required to be gainfully employed or seeking employment on a full-time basis at the end of the initial evaluation. Individuals on disability must be willing to participate in volunteer opportunities within the community. All residents contribute a fee towards their room and board which may be pro-rated based on income. The Hope House treatment program lasts for four to six months; length of time is determined on an individual basis dependent upon accomplished goals and objectives.
