Healing the Brain ~ Empowering the Body ~ Transforming Recovery. ~
CICAM is a transformative program launched by Hope House Addiction Services to reimagine how we approach addiction treatment and mental health recovery, especially for individuals impacted by trauma, incarceration, housing instability, and systemic inequities.
We believe that recovery is personal, social, and biological—and that innovation begins with listening to communities, applying neuroscience, and restoring dignity in care.
Our approach is grounded in science, driven by equity, and built on the belief that healing happens not just in the mind—but in the body, community, and soul.
Our Vision
A world where addiction care is equitable, evidence-based, and deeply human — rooted in compassion, powered by innovation, and designed for the real lives of those we serve.
What Makes CICAM Different?
Innovation Meets Accessibility
We integrate cutting-edge tools like wearable neurofeedback, trauma-informed martial arts, and digital tracking of clinical outcomes into residential and community-based care models.
Equity-Centered Approach
We center the voices and needs of those historically excluded—Black, Latinx, LGBTQ+, homeless, system-involved—by adapting interventions to be culturally relevant and responsive.
Brain-Body Connection
We bring neuroscience-informed modalities into treatment—from meditation-enhancing technology to somatic and movement therapies—redefining what "whole-person" care looks like.
Commitment to Impact
CICAM continuously collects and analyzes data on mood, PTSD symptoms, sleep, quality of life, and social outcomes to evaluate and evolve our programs.
Signature Interventions
Neurofeedback-Assisted Meditation
Clients wear portable EEG headbands (Muse™) to receive real-time feedback on brainwave activity while meditating. This fosters better self-awareness, emotional regulation, and mental clarity—core skills in recovery.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for Recovery
Trauma-informed martial arts classes offer a unique path to healing through movement, strategy, emotional control, and human connection. Held in partnership with community gyms and led by certified instructors.
Outcomes-Driven Care Delivery
We track individual progress using standardized tools to ensure services remain effective, equitable, and accountable.
Who We Serve
CICAM is designed for clients of Hope House Addiction Services and collaborating community partners. Many participants are navigating complex realities—substance use disorder, mental illness, homelessness, and criminal justice involvement. Our model is also designed to be scalable to other recovery settings. We serve a diverse population that includes:
Adults in residential recovery
Clients with dual diagnoses (SUD and mental illness)
Formerly incarcerated individuals
People experiencing housing instability
Racial, ethnic, and gender minorities
CICAM is designed to remove barriers to healing by ensuring access to non-stigmatizing, community-rooted care.
Why It Matters
Culturally Responsive: Designed with and for the people we serve
Innovative: Combines neuroscience, movement, and mindfulness
Scalable: Low-cost, replicable model for other recovery settings
Effective: Early results show improved mood, sleep, emotional regulation, and engagement
